The smell of toast wafts out from the open door of a nearby bakery. It's like an entrance of time. It takes you from a busy street in New York to a small cafe in Paris that you visited many years ago.
Some people said that smell is like the soul of memory, not so specific and traceless. In his novel ‘perfume’,Patrick Süskind wrote: Turn a deaf ear to the great, the horror and the beautiful, and can turn a deaf ear to beautiful melodies or confusing statements, but they can not get rid of the smell. The smell enters the body with the breath and goes straight to the heart, where it distinguishes between admiration and contempt, disgust and interest, love and hate.
Have you ever had the feeling that scenes that are almost blurred in your memory often become clearer when you come across some smell many years later.
Through the VR interactive design, the device guides the audience to immerse themselves in the scene and follow their own feelings to find the objects in memories. These objects may represent a deep memory or a forgotten memory. And through the combination of odor devices, the olfactory device is combined with virtual reality, breaking through the visual and auditory, bringing more novel immersive experience. While enjoying the VR scene full of visual effects, the audience can feel the smell quietly and arouse the emotion brought by the memory in the deep mind.
