Accord Original

«Accord» is an interactive sound installation, in which the movements of the audience create the soundscape. The concept is based on the Pythagorean idea of The Harmonies of Celestial Spheres. The space is mapped to form a celestial sound «mandala», participants become individual planets, revolving around the space, each causing a different tone to develop depending where they are positioned. Their movements inform the laser distance measurement sensors (as used in surveying and safety equipment), connected to sound synthesisers. As more users (up to 8) align, more harmonies are created within the space. The experience develops presence and spatial awareness, and asks for people to tune to their bodies, and to their environment. The installation is an interactive space where people communicate through their body movements and the sound they create.
