Her Real Secret Onement in white no1 Original

Her Real Secret: Onement in white no.1 is the second project of Her Real Secret as an installation piece. By using commercial lingerie that is disassembled and re-attached to an art-historically symbolic composition by Barnett Newman. This series of projects examines how the current social system is ironically entangled with the materialistic value of commercialization with a deep religious foundation throughout human history. This fiber installation is motion-engaged and creates optical illusions for viewers to be positioned at the center of the work to see the shiny middle strip in 18k gold. Its mixture of entanglement using twisted threads builds up a very organized and mathematically calculated form of a 2-dimensional surface. At Joshua Tree Highland Artists Residency, Sungjae Lee set up the installation and showcased its premiere in September 2019.
