"The Grand Canal" is a cultural and educational APP application that expresses Chinese cultural heritage. The target users are young people over 12 years old. The work uses the iPad as a medium to introduce the four aspects of the Grand Canal's historical changes, geographic information, canal remains and historical figures. Among them, "historical changes" illustrate the evolution of the canal in different periods of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the Yuan Dynasty, and modern times; "geographic information" details the length of the various sections of the Grand Canal, the way of the river system, the cities along the route, and the water conservancy functions; Historical canal management facilities, related ancient buildings and historical and cultural blocks, and other places of interest; "Historical Figures" introduces important people in charge of canal transportation, such as Jiang Zengyun Governor-General Ji Zengyun, Hube Shi Lang Bai Ang. The graphic design uses a concise and condensed low-face-count 3D model. On the one hand, the interaction process on the mobile terminal is kept smooth, on the other hand, it conforms to the visual aesthetics of the target audience, and reduces the distance of young groups from traditional culture. The works hope to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture with digital design.
