Last March, we were invited by the Times Art Museum Beijing to carry out an indoor version of our piece On Blank Pages as part of the show Wavelength: A Momentary Spring which will be in display from March 29 until July 1.

The idea has been the same as on previous occasions: to set up a large installation of significant poetic power, a space of free expression where people’s thoughts can be put out there uncensored.

A large room covered with thousands of notebooks with blank pages that take over the space, full of light and casual sound. Though the piece is inside a museum, the idea of freedom is still present.

The immense surface of the walls is conceived to house a huge collage of intimate anonymous interventions that the air coming out of big electric fans moves at will, offering viewers millions of random compositions stemming from collective inputs.

An essential part of the piece is the sound of the pages which turns the surface into a constant unique voice made up of every single idea and thought captured in the moving lighted paper.

Many thanks to Yuqi and Liya of the PinKou Culture team who have curated the show and have understood our work perfectly. We also want to thank the museum for lodging us.
