数字岭南丨新会葵扇

传统文化中，葵扇是媒人的一个重要标志。

In traditional culture,  Palm-leaf fan is an important symbol of matchmaking.

我们将葵扇延伸成树状，利用心形镂空与红线穿插缠绕。

We extended the Palm-leaf fan into a tree shape, interspersed with heart-shaped hollow and red thread.

假以“姻缘树”的意象，

Assuming the image of "Marriage Tree",

寄托有情人终成眷属的美好祝愿。

giving good wishes to lovers.

 

 

 

 

旧时代，牵线搭桥的女性媒人，俗称作“大葵扇”。

In the old days, the female matchmaker who matched the bridge was commonly known as the "big plam-leaf fan".

而“姻缘树”自古承载了人们对爱情的向往。

The "Marriage Tree" has carried people's longing for love since ancient times.

中国古时的婚姻讲究明媒正娶，媒人在中国的婚姻嫁娶中起着牵线搭桥的作用。媒人会自提亲起，到订婚、促成结婚都会起着中间人的作用，在男女双方间作联络，协调、细节调解，搞气氛，说吉祥说话，祝福新人幸福美满。

Chinese ancient marriages emphasized that the matchmaker was marrying, and the matchmaker played a matchmaking role in China's marriage. The matchmaker will act as an intermediary from the beginning of the marriage to the engagement and the promotion of marriage. It will liaise between the men and women, coordinate, mediation details, engage in the atmosphere, say auspicious words, and wish the new couple happiness and happiness.

如今，葵扇也成了媒人的一个重要标志。“千里姻缘一线牵”我们将葵扇延伸成树状，利用心形镂空与红线穿插缠绕，假以“姻缘树”的意象，寄托有情人终成眷属的美好祝愿。
