流明艺术奖项简介


“流明数码艺术大奖”被”英国卫报文化博客”誉为: “全球卓越的数码艺术奖项”。


“流明数码艺术大奖”组织由众多艺术界知名人士组成,其每年在全球各国征集经由电子数码设备所创作而成的艺术作品,并通过专业的评审团选出一定数量的作为每年的优秀作品,且有机会在全球进行巡回展览。

自2012年以来,“流明数码艺术大奖”已经在全球超过10个城市举办了30多场展览及活动,其中包括美国纽约、英国伦敦、希腊雅典、阿姆斯特丹、英国卡迪夫、中国香港以及中国上海等。通过与学术伙伴合作,“流明数码艺术大奖”在每场展览举办同期,并组织了多场研讨会,艺术家讲座以及专题座谈会。


远远超过了一个奖项,“流明“致力于创建一个数码艺术领域的运动,为入围、候选以及获奖艺术家们提供一个网络平台以及多种机会。2015年观众选择奖获得者、艺术家Fabiano Mixo说:“ ‘流明’是科技与艺术,研究与实践的集合地,想法与创意集聚一堂。这完全比一个展示平台的意义大的多!”

“流明”项目坚信艺术的力量,同时很荣幸地与一些来自世界各地的艺术教育伙伴们合作。其中包括英国计算机艺术学会,纽约创新技术周、纽约视觉艺术学院、伦敦艺术大学坎伯维尔艺术学院研究生数字艺术纯艺专业、CADW、英国威尔士政府遗产以及英国斯旺西管理艺术大学。

“流明奖项”为“流明项目”有限责任公司所属,是一个在英国威尔士注册成立的无盈利目的机构。报名参赛的所有费用将会作为给各大“流明奖项”获得者的奖金,并投入在全球巡回展览中。

问:报名费是多少?

答:45美元可以申请2件作品,22.5美元如果有你需要多报名一件作品。作为一个无盈利目的的机构,流明未获得外界的赞助费用,所有的报名费用直接帮助奖项运营及全球展览计划。


问:今年的奖项设置有哪些?

答:2017年的奖项设置请见如下:


金奖 | 3000美元

最高奖项,流明奖项金奖,在所有不同类别作品内被评选为最特色的作品。

 

动态图像奖 | 1000美元

以时间轴为基础的艺术作品,作品包括:动画、生成艺术、视频艺术;叙事或者非叙事作品等。

 

静态图像奖 | 1000美元

任何在创作过程中用数字处理的艺术品,包含照片处理,三维渲染或者用手机、平板电脑、电脑等数码软件绘制的图像。


VR/AR 奖项  | 1000美元

所有虚拟现实、增强现实以及混合现实艺术作品。

 

三维/雕塑奖项  | 1000美元

任何在创作过程中用到数字处理方式的雕塑作品,比如:3D打印雕塑、数字设计物体,或者有数码输入或输出的物体。


交互奖项 | 1000美元

作品需要观众的参与,通过声音、触摸或者运动,其中包含数码创作游戏。


基于网页奖项 | 1000美元

任何一个可以展现在公共网页环境下的网页艺术作品


大众选择奖 | 250美元

8月份在入围作品中进行大众投票,所选择出的作品。


创始人奖项| 750美元

颁发给一位作品用数码技术特殊方式吸引观众的艺术家。

答:仍然可以在全球进行展览,如果您作品被选中的话我们可以展示你作品的视频文件,或者减小作品尺寸来进行全球展示。


问:请问艺术家可以使用何种设备?

答:艺术家可以使用任何设备没有限制。传统的作品特色也可以成为创意的一部分,但是我们不接受传统作品的数码显示。


问:请问“流明数码艺术奖项”是如何运作的?

The Lumen Prize for Digital Art is Founded and Organized by few global famous people who in art industry. Now in it's sixth year, The Lumen Prize celebrates the very best art createddigitally by artists around the world. Its goal is to celebrate the power and potential of this exciting genre through an annual competition and global tourof works selected by an eminent panel of judges.

Since 2012, Lumen has staged nearly 30 shows and events inmore than 10 cities around the world, including New York City, Shanghai,Athens, Amsterdam, Cardiff, and London. In partnership with its academic partners, Lumen holds seminars, artist talks and symposiums at nearly all ofits shows.


Much more than a competition, Lumen is dedicated to buildinga movement around digital art, providing a network and opportunities to itslonglisted and shortlisted artists, as well as the winners. "Lumen is where technology & art, research & practice; thinking & creationall come together. It is definitely much more than just a showcase" says2015 People’s Choice Award Winner Fabiano Mixo.


Lumen believes in the power of art and is honoured to beworking with a range of education and art partners around the world including the UK's Computer Arts Society, New York's Creative Tech Week, NY's School of Visual Arts; London's Camberwell School of Arts MA Fine Art Digital programme,CADW, the heritage arm of the Welsh Government and Swansea University's Schoolof Management.


Lumen is owned by Lumen Projects Ltd, a not-for-profit company registered in Wales, UK. All entry fees to the prize are allocated tothe prize fund and global tour.

How To Enter?


Q: How do I enter? 

A: Registration for the 2017 Competition will openon March 22, 2017. Website: www.lumenprize.com


Q: What does it cost? 

A: It's US$ 45 for 2 works and US$ 22.50 for each additional work. A not-for-profit organisation, Lumen receives no outside funding. All entry fees go directly towards the prizes and global tour.


Q: What are the prizes? 

A: All the prizes for 2017 can be found here. 



Gold Award 

$3000

The top award,the Lumen Prize Gold, goes to the artist whose work is judged to be exceptional across all categories.


Moving Image Award 

$1000

For time-basedartwork, including animation, generative or video art; narrative or non-narrative works.

 

Still Image Award 

$1000

For any workthat uses digital processes in its creation, including photo-manipulation, 3D renders, or drawings created on phones, tablets or PCs using digital software. 


VR/AR Award 

$1000

For Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality art. 

 

3D/Sculpture Award 

$1000

For any sculpture that uses digital process in its creation, such as 3D printed sculpture, objects designed digitally, or objects that have a digital input or output.


Interactive Award 

$1000

For works which engage with audiences through sound, touch or movement, including digitally-created games.

 

Web-Based Award 

$1000

For art whichis created to be shown online in a web-based environment and open for publicview.

 

People's Choice Award 

$250

Determined byan public vote of the Lumen Longlist which opens in August.

 

Founder's Award 

$750

Awarded to anartist whose practice uniquely engages audiences through digital techniques

Q: What art is eligible? 

A: All art is eligible as long as it engages with technology in some form. If you have any questions regarding whether your work suits The Lumen Prize please email

Q: What if my work is site specific? 

A: It's still eligiblefor the tour - we can show a documentation video of your work, if selected, oruse a model or scaled down version for the tour.


Q:  What kind of equipment can artists use? 

A:  Artists can use any equipment, there is no limit. Traditional work can be part of the creative process, but we do notaccept digitised versions of traditional work.


Q:How does the Lumen Prize work? 

A:On21 September, we will announce the winners of the 2017 Lumen Prize andexhibit a selection of the winning and shortlisted works in London's HackneyHouse. The Lumen Prize then curates shows, runs seminars and organises specialevents in cooperation with a wide range of venues around theworld. Q: How does the judging work? 

A: All works arereviewed by our International Selectors' Committee, made up of art and technology specialists, including curators, writers and academics. This groupselects the Lumen Longlist which opens for a public vote for the People's Choice Award. The Longlist then goes before our eminent Jury Panel, who selectthe exhibition and award winners.

Douglas Dodds

Foteini Aravani

Digital Curator at the Museum of London, Foteini develops the museum’s digital collecting activities and identifies opportunities for acquiring digital material to enhance and enrich the Museum’s collections.

Michael Takeo Magruder

An internationally recognised visual artist working with digital mediawhose projects have been showcased in over 250 exhibitions in 34 countries. Currently artist-in-residence at the British Library and winner of the 2015 Lumen Prize for Immersive Environments.

WeiWei Wang 王慰慰


上海当代艺术馆策展人,有着丰富的策展经验,最近策划展览“动漫美学双年展2015-2016,同时创办了上海当代艺术馆”艺术亭台“项目。

Curator for the Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) Shanghai, WeiWei hascurated numerous shows, most recently "Animamix Biennale 2015-2016", as well as several projects for the museum's projects space "MoCAPavilion".
